5 Things You Need To Know

Hours

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center has varying hours throughout the year:


September 16 – October 31: Open 7 days a week, 10am – 6pm.

November: Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 10am – 5pm.

December: Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 10am – 4pm, last entry at 3pm.

January: Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 10am – 4pm, last entry at 3pm.

February: Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 10am – 5pm.

March & April: Open 7 days a week, 10am – 6pm.

May - September 15: Open 7 days a week, 9am – 7pm.

Tickets and Admission

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center tickets are readily available when you arrive. Here are the ticket prices: 


Adult: $20 per person 

Alaska Resident: $18 per person 

Youth (age 5-17): $16 per person 

Child (age 4 and under): FREE

Getting there from Anchorage

To reach the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center from Anchorage, you have a few options. 


Take the Seward Highway and drive approximately 47 miles from Anchorage. This is best done in a rental car.


Use Uber, Lyft, or a taxi. Remember, you'll need your driver to wait with you as you can't start a ride from the park.


Tours

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center offers several exciting tours:


Bear Encounter: Join a daily guided tour to observe the training and feeding of bears. Cost: $125 per person.


Moose Encounter: Get up close and personal with the center's moose, including feeding and learning about them. Cost: $25 per person.


Walk the Wild Side Tour: Enjoy a personalized tour with a guide who walks you through the center. It's recommended to book ahead. Cost: $125 per person.


These tours provide unique opportunities to learn about and interact with the wildlife at the center, catering to different interests and budgets.
